this too shall pass
it was something that has really been bothering me since i found out about it january, finally i had it checked with my doctor last june. yeah i know that was too much of a procrastination just because i thought it was only a simple case of sorts, i expected less, but i was surprised with what the doctor told me. i mean, hey guys, this is not a super serious condition with no cure whatsoever, it's just that i didn't see this coming. for a girl who has been so diligent with check ups, this came like a hit on the head, a joke, but a bad one!
when the doctor told me about it, my jaw dropped! how on earth? i kept it to myself. i talked to no one about it, not even to my husband, it would only bother him. it took a while before it has gotten into my system, and when it did, i immediately browsed the net. thank God for the internet. i spent all my days and nights researching about it-- its symptoms, because maybe the doctor was just mistaken by her diagnosis, its cure, and how worried should i be noting im on my pregnancy now. search results meanwhile show that it is not as serious as someone would think. praise heavens! and medicine has significantly advanced that conditions such as mine can now be prevented and cured. also, it is said that it has been common, especially evident with girls. it is also said that it would not complicate my pregnancy, except in really severe cases, which thankfully i'm not in. so there, i breathe.
august came and my husband is home. it was such a struggle every night how i'm gonna start telling him about my condition. it came finally. he put a blank face, i wonder what came running his thoughts after that moment when i told him everything about it. i, on the other hand, was sobbing in tears. that was a very difficult situation to be in. he started asking questions and i clearly answered everything based on what i researched. after all of it, he was most reassuring telling me that this is something we should face together and that everything will be alright between us. he accompanied me as i went to see my doctor that day, he asked several questions to her again and he probably asked the "should we worry?" question three times and the doctor was gracious to answer everytime those questions were thrown, that we shouldn't. the doctor said medications to address my condition will only start soon as i give birth. see, i told you it's not really too much of an ordeal since the doctor herself affords to delay my medication. and yes, i patiently submit myself to this, and build a mindset that yes, everything will be fine.
for now, i am okay. as the doctor said, it is not something i should greatly worry about. just putting a front? well maybe i am, i have to be, especially that i am having this wonderful blessing of a baby on my way. but i would like to think it is more of a choice of what we allow to be conceived in our minds. blessings are overwhelming my life right now, this should take a back seat.
it may not be something to worry much, but at the back of my mind lies a hundred and one questions relating to this, and believe me those running through my head are really mind-boggling and i know in the end they will just be left unanswered, errr i really wouldn't wanna know. i guess there may be some things not worth knowing, to give you the peace of mind and to pacify the heightened whatevers inside of you.
i have never shared this with anyone but to my husband and through this blog, meaning this will just be between me and you. it may not be clear here what it is that im really going through, pardon me, i can only say much. really, im okay, il be. this too shall pass :)

a friendship made in heaven
in today's generation where a friend can easily mean the next profile you see over your facebook news feed, don't you think the word "friend" which is suppose to connote a more special and an endearing relationship has now become so misused and abused? well, don't get me wrong here, i have nothing against those people who may have over a thousand friends on their social networking profiles, i don't mind it, really. i guess one can never dictate as to the number of friends he/she can have.
all encompassing, i must say i am one girl blessed to have a friend as 'best' as glaiza. bias as i may be, but i have to say she is one exceptional person for a friend. she is the many things she is, but hey i won't bother to enumerate them here, i might just end up understating how great a friend she is. really, she is.. and more to that!
tamboy, as i call her, and i were actually kindergarten classmates and really good playmates, but she never knew this until i told her so and showed her our graduation picture. well, maybe that was how forgettable kinder really was for her, that, or either my memory with people is really that good. hahahah oh yes i do remember all my classmates from pre-school years to graders! anyway, fate brought us back together when we became classmates again in 3rd year high school. as she had said on my wedding day as my maid-of-honor, the love for basketball was our common denominator and we hit it off perfectly! ..and the rest, is this friendship made in heaven.
sharing with you the video she made, encapsulating the wonderful moments we had together, at each other's side =)

soundtrippin'
i just love this band! the irish artistry so purely resonates in the music they create. apart from the musicality of these four siblings and their ability to come together and play as a band with their instruments of specialization, the words of their songs are made with much sensitivity and vibrance.
living a life practically on my own where every time is "me time"..it affords me to ponder on things, explore my mind, and sometimes, having to deal things with passivity is just the most aptly move to do. but if all else fail, when my thoughts become so messed up and loneliness starts to eat me, i overwhelm myself with the music of THE CORRS. oohhh how much solace i find just listening to them.
an old fella in me? but hey! my generation's songs are now actually making it to MTV Classic and American Idol contestants are now singing it on their "year i was born" week :) if you make that a standard of how much years have gone by in your life, right, unarguably, call me that! but the corrs will always be one of my all-time favorite bands. so, let's have us a trip down memory lane to the years not so long ago and enjoy the music of the siblings andrea, sharon, caroline and jim, more popularly known as THE CORRS.
without discrediting the genius of michael stipe of REM who had this song originally, i don't know, maybe the rendition from a girl made me feel the whole meaning of the song -- the frailty and fragility of life. andrea showed so much passion singing here. and this song is my antidote when i start to feel tired and empty.
this has got to be my ultimate friendship song. i remember, glaiza and i always sing this everytime we hit the videoke! we would sing in duet, so aloud at that, especially on the chorus part. it feels a celebration and sealing the bond of uncompromising friendship and the reassuring fact that we'll always be at each other's side :) awwww!!!
the calmness of this song exudes the whole meaning of this song. its slow-paced melody allows you to reflect that there are actually no frontiers in our constant quest to realize the dream of our hearts. and the clarity of words in each line add to the genuineness of the song.
i love the happy vibe of the song! hola!!! despite the unfortunate story of what the girl has done to his boy, the song still has the upbeat sound that sets the wonderful energy the song. isn't it ironic, don't you think? :) and ohhh, i love the wind instrument being played in between. so alive and gay!!!
enjoy this track. the thing i love most with their music! how they incorporate the taps on the percussion, each pluck on the strings and the blow on wind instruments.. just sheer irish music! the merriment is so there!
songs above may not be your popular choices from the irish band, but along with all of their wonderfully created songs, each soothes the pleasure of our auditory. and im glad i was able to share my favorite cuts from them. how about you, what's your favorite the corrs song? :)
