a year after... what have become?

ooppsss! this is not about the PNoy administration and how much the country has leaped, if ever you think it has, after a year he sworn into post as a servant (i mean, we are his boss right?) to the Filipino people being the president of this country. while PNoy assumed office a year ago, i, however, resigned from my first job and embraced the domesticated life. oh yesss baby, i chose to my turn back to the job that has given me the many first times in my life -- like the plane ride and go to manila when i had my new employees orientation and training, receiving a compensation for the service you actually rendered (like to the real sense of the word 'perang pinaghirapan'), and even all the kaartehan with make-up and clothes were all learned from the company that has first saw the potential in me and believed in what i can do (im not quite sure if they thought of this though..hihihih) for them.

enough said, this post is suppose to give you a rundown of what has transpired a year after i said yes to a life of domestication, of solitude and isolation! here goes...

one weekend while nagsusunog sila ng kilay in prep for their 4th periodical exam.
ice cream is always a dependable ice breaker! (needless to say, isn't it in the name?)

meet elam and aram, my students. after my resignation from work, my former officemate approached to tell me if i can be a tutor to her 2 children. unsure of how i'm gonna fair thinking of how unfamiliar teaching is for me, i gave it a try! i was actually surprised of myself, i didn't know i had the patience to teach kids. the enjoyment and satisfaction i find imparting knowledge to these kids and helping them excel in school gave such a great fulfillment on my part. i have doubted then if i can make myself understood to other people, but seeing their report cards answered just that!

moreover, with unemployment comes my new quest to look for alternative source of income. oh well, it's not a bum life for me at all! with the pay i get to receive from tutoring for two kids from mondays to thurdays, i also engaged myself and joined the freelance writing bandwagon, not a career though. im just helping out my good friend with her articles and she's compensating me for every article i make (i think she gets satisfied naman with what i do). and lastly, im on buy and sell! whoooaahhh who would have thought that there is a tiny bone of being a businesswoman in me! nyakkk! oh well, these are just small time works  that i do to keep me productive and earning despite being domesticated. These may give meager amount to me, but hey at the end of the day, it is not the accumulation of wealth that matters, it is the how well you have lived and shared your passion. naks naman! (im not even sure how that closing statement for the paragraph fits the whole idea. hahaha)

ninang rizza and mj

with most of my time spent at home, this also equates to more playing time with our little angel, mj. she is the first niece from my husband's side. i had very little moments with her then as i only see her when im on my way to the office. she hardly hardly recognizes me. but not anymore, we have become daily playmates. or rather most of the time, i play a good antagonist in mj's life, her primary source of tears! nyahahah i enjoy teasing kids! at 1 year and 6 months now, she is calling me "nina"... il settle with it for now, she finds it difficult to pronounce the "ng" pa. every morning, with lola, she comes visiting me at home, calling me from the outside the green gate "nina.. nina..."  oohh just the sweetest words you'd here to guarantee one great day ahead.

and lastly, this has got to be the reason that makes it all worth from quitting your job! and i am most looking forward for what i will become =) yayyyyy!!

bellini

going out to a bigger city always means having to indulge in sumptuous dishes i am so deprived to have in this small city of ours. so whenever im in cebu, my second place to home, i always see to it that i eat all my favorites, and try something new. for this recent cebu trip i had, me and my dear friend, maricel, had to experience dining at bellini together. the restaurant created a lot of buzz lately, with their mediterranean  cuisine, you can never go wrong. plus the ambiance overlooking the scenic lights of the city, it just completes the overall dining experience.

actually, anzani is the fine dining restaurant, while bellini is the champagne bar --located alongside each other. but since the restaurant was full when we got there, we were accommodated at bellini. rightfully, we liked it there since we had an outdoor dining in mind.

i had a hard time picking out what to order. they have a varied
selection on their menu -- from fish and seafood, to poultry,
to lamb chops, duck breast, to US beef.

we had these awesome buns as complimentary food while
waiting for our orders. i loved how the bread blended with the
dip in the middle, tasted tomato but with a lot more flavor.

i had this. yellow fin tuna fillet in rockford creamy sauce paired
with steamed seasonal vegetable.  --DIVINE!!!

notice how red the grilled fish was. it was done so right, the
freshness and tenderness of the tuna was perfectly there.
the eating experience was... scrumptious!

my friend had this. whole squid in green pepper corn sauce
with vegetable ratatouille. i was able to try it, and boy it
was by far the best squid ive had, so soft and juicy!

us. enjoying the cebu skyline at night in comfortable sofas,
with feel good acoustic music on the background.
