games i grew up with

back when i was a kid, i am such a sucker for outdoor games. for a kid born before the rise of computer games, who wasn't?! weekend and school vacations would mean spending the entire day out on the streets, running, sporting those loose 'pawis na pawis' shirts with matching pudpud na tsinelas, not minding being grilled by the scorching heat of the sun! PINOY STREET GAMES ftw baby!!! sleeping on a very sunny afternoon was just the most pathetic thing a kid would do at that time, as in nakabold and caps ang letter L on your forehead! hahaha i remember, i used to escape the eyes of our househelper just to play with neighbors, lipat-lipaton ra si ate while she watched her favorite afternoon drama was the key :p

good thing there were a lot of kids who were of the same age as i was in the neighborhood, playing on streets was a complete experience. tumbang preso, patintero, shatong, luksong-tinik, tagu-taguan, holen, luksong-lubid, piko, and the list goes on forever. i love how these games involves every muscle and strength of your body, and not to mention the test of your stamina, endurance and your ever dependable diskarte, i know right?! hahaha and yes i get to showcase the very competitive and sporty side of me [read: one of the boys].
